Description

The Ronstan Series 40 Ball Bearing Orbit Block™ with Dyneema® Link Head is designed to be exceptionally lightweight. The unique orbital design ensures that bearings are only present in the active areas of the floating sheave, minimizing the mass of the inactive return race and hub. This configuration reduces weight and bulk, making it the lightest in its class. The ball bearing single and becket block features a through-sheave becket arrangement, achieving the lowest possible weight. Multi-sheave blocks are designed with single intermediate cheeks and an ultra-light head arrangement, offering a 30% weight saving over competitors.

The block boasts the highest working load in its class, thanks to the orbital ball-bearing arrangement that maximizes the bearing race diameter for optimal load performance. The Ronstan 2-stage bearing system includes high compression grade acetal ball bearings and a secondary full-contact bearing, minimizing friction across the working load range. The floating sheave and bearing system are supported by a fiber-reinforced load frame, stress-optimized through computer modeling.

The Dyneema® link head is easily fitted and securely retained, eliminating the need for heavy steel load straps, head post, shackle, full-length fasteners, and cleating. This high-performance block is low profile and compact, featuring a high-performance cleating system.
