The Ronstan Series 55 Orbit Block™, Single with Becket, is designed for lightweight performance. It features a unique orbital design where the bearing is active only in the necessary areas of the floating sheave, minimizing the mass of inactive components. This block is the lightest in its class, providing a 30% weight saving advantage over competitors. The block's high working load is achieved through an orbital ball-bearing system with a large bearing race diameter and a two-stage bearing system, ensuring minimal friction. The design includes a fibre-reinforced load frame and a Dyneema® Link, which is significantly stronger and lighter than steel. Ideal for mainsheet systems and spinnaker sheets on dinghies, sportsboats, and small keel boats up to 9m (30ft), as well as halyard, vang, and backstay applications on boats up to 8m (26ft). The block is constructed from high compression strength carbon black Acetal ball bearings, carbon fibre reinforced PTFE impregnated Nylon, and a toughened, glass fibre reinforced Nylon frame.
