The Core Blocks™ are a versatile solution for various sailing needs. Featuring a tuned 2-stage bearing system, these blocks offer excellent performance across the full working load range. The integrated thrust bearing feature ensures resilience under high dynamic or static loads. Constructed with an Acetal sheave, alloy cheeks, and stainless steel fixings, these blocks are designed for durability. They are ideal for sheets, halyards, and control line applications in both cruising and racing scenarios.

The Ronstan Universal Bearing incorporates a proven 2-stage bearing system. In Stage 1, Acetal ball bearings minimize friction under moderate loads. In Stage 2, a sliding Acetal bearing on a polished stainless steel race maintains low friction under heavy loads, preventing deformation of the ball bearings.

The ball bearings also function as a thrust bearing between the sheave and cheeks, reducing friction when the line alignment is not perfect. This is particularly important for cheek blocks.

The block cheeks are made from high-quality alloy for maximum strength. The design minimizes weight and allows for easy rinsing of salt and debris from the bearings. The cheek design is further enhanced with flaring for style and functionality.

These blocks are known for their class-leading performance and sleek, contemporary styling. They offer excellent dynamic and high static load performance with less than half the friction of the nearest competitor. Note that the maximum load on the top sheave should not exceed 50% of the total block load.

Ideal for mainsheet, halyard, and spinnaker sheet applications on boats up to 11m (36ft) and various control line applications on larger yachts. Alloy sheave models are available for use with wire.
